read my lips...traditional word of mouth marketing tactics still work, and I'd argue bring better conversions
I once went down a rabbit hole, and got lost in Wonderland like Alice. It reminded me of Little Red Riding Hood. Then Hansel & Gretel. And of course, Dorothy on her trek to the Wizard of Oz. You see, once you get the patterns, everything falls into place. It is all connected. There truly is nothing new under the sun, and as we continue to develop this Babylonian land, we will only see the spider web grow.
My initial adoption and programming of a.i., then subsequent disdain for the technology as I grew weary of losing privacy, led me to the path I am on today: in-person experiences that last a lifetime. I grew fond of immersive art places like Area 15 in Vegas, and experiential art exhibits like the Van Gogh one. I fell in love with The Bodies Exhibit. I think a lot of it had to do with the fun I remembered in my childhood as I ventured to festivals like Newsong, Vans Warped Tour, and Bonnaroo. There is nothing like bonding over a failed 10x10 pop-up.
In my tradeshow days, I realized how profitable my events were the more I focused on an on-site conversion, rather than a sales meeting at a restaurant. If I could get a booth visitor to buy one of my author's books right then and there, or purchase a coffee machine directly off the show floor so I didn't have to ship it back, I was winning. I gave a global brand the idea of using the Square app to take purchase orders and secure the funding in person. All I had to do was program the iPad, and we were set.
I owe a lot of my ideas to my muse over the past few years, who just made friends by handing out relevant stickers in the crowd, or fanning those who were overheated. Soon thereafter, people were exchanging sprouts, kandi became a mass marketed trend, and trinkets were something to collect with your camping buddies and build public trade boxes with.
Honestly, I got very sick in the latter days of my career, debilitating me to a point where I could no longer sit at a desk. Migraines were daily (bright lights from displays, high pitched frequencies on the phone - all a photosensitivity nightmare), and the blood flow wasn't flowing. My day job became my prison and a nightmare I relived every waking hour in pain. It wasn't until I snagged a security guard job that put me in the environments that I thrived - bottle service girls, flow arts friends, crowd control walkers, and safety helping hands. I enjoyed the events, and got to move my body how it needed.
All of this to say, I came full circle back to my roots of being in the midst of the action, rather than relying on automations to bring me a client. I wanted to build a place I loved to send people to, so that they could learn and understand the path to memorable user experience. I hope you find a traditional solution here to your special project's needs. And I hope you choose me to help you succeed.
